Students spend 30hours a week or more at school, and fortunately we have the opportunity to be involved in schools and to be the presence of Christ in their world. Rather then expecting them to come to us, we have the opportunity to go to them. It is not about preaching at them, or expecting them to come on board with what we are doing- instead we are present in the school to serve and to be the presence of Jesus whatever that may look like. It may mean getting involved in welfare or sport teams, you may have the opportunity to run a lunch time ISCF group or teach scripture, you may even simply have the chance to be a part of the school and to help where ever the school needs you. In Jesus, we have a great message of hope for all generations, yet we are called first and foremost to love without strings attached- imagine the difference we could make in schools and the lives of staff and students if we were simply there to love as Christ has loved us, no strings attached.
The resources in this section will hopefully support your presence in the schools. There are some scripture materials, ideas for lunch time groups and even ideas for welfare based stuff. We've even included some important documents to make sure you follow the guidelines set out by the DET.
